Plano-Coudon served as construction manager at-risk for this MRI facility at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Specialty construction included an RF shielded room and a ‘floating’ structural floor on top of an existing floor to support equipment. Detailed coordination was required for the installation of a six-ton magnet, and the delivery of steel and concrete, which required creating a temporary exterior opening at the 6th floor and the maintenance of traffic on a main downtown street.
